RAC’em RAC

24 Oct

In the words of Willie, Rack Em Rack!

RAC (Remix Artist Collective) continues to pump out out amazing remixes. These guys don’t do your typical club mixes or  electro butcherings. They usually stick to indie pop or chillwave and add synthesized melodies that only amount to joy.

Aylen

Avicii has started to sound a bit boring lately. Aylen spices things up.

Summer Days in Oz

23 Oct

After being locked in my room writing essays for the past two weeks, I’ve emerged from my den and realized that spring’s in full bloom here in Sydney. It’s 30 degrees (Celsius) and sunny today, feels a bit like summer.

This is a funny song from Pez, one of the few hip-hop artists in Australia. It’s an Asher Roth-style anthem about music festivals, hanging with friends, and the laid-back Aussie lifestyle. Enjoy

DBT

23 Oct

DBT (Do Big Things) is a upcoming duo from the University of Miami. I was a bit skeptical of two frat boys trying to produce, but after listening to a couple songs I was impressed. These guys are true to their name, their shit’s hot and they know how to party. This is a remix of Dragonette, be sure to check out “A.D.Disco” if you’re ready to rage.

New Phantogram

From their upcoming LP Nightlife. Same great vocals from Sarah, but they’ve dropped the repetitious guitar  riffs for a more sample-y soundscape.

1 Year Anniversary

6 Oct

250 posts and almost 4,000 views later and we are still going, woo!

I don’t have a celebration-like song for you though. “No turning back” is a chill electronic track from Brazilian Gui Boratto that was released in 2009. Long and deep, minimalist but colorful. Shoutout to Matt B. for showing me this.
