The Vermont Post: Stevie Wonder, Teen Daze, and Portugal. The Man.

12 Jan

Spent a week partying in Burlington which consisted of a lot of loud music and dance parties. The music of choice at my friends house was funk-  surprisingly fun and a needed break from electronic. I forgot to grab Robin’s playlist, but here’s an example:

Coincidentally, while I was there I found Teen Daze’s new song- “Let’s Groove”

I was also introduced to Portugal. The Man, an  Alaskan/Oregonian indie rock group.

We are now connected.

I’m not in love with his sound- I feel like I’m playing a shitty Sega game, but with the right speakers it’s a party grooooove.

Kap Slap

17 Dec

I got into a conversation about mashups with a friend who informed me the artist Kap Slap was from my high school-Whoa, what!? That came as a total surprise. Jared’s motto is Mashups for Raging, and that’s exactly what it is, a complete party vibe. Check out his hectic medley’s and get buck.

I first heard of Kap Slap through his collab with 3LAU in “Turbulent Rock Anthem” and then his “Strobe Lights Say My Name” This is Guetta’s Calling Solveig Up”-Download. Check out his site for his all his songs and downloads-kapslap.com

The Pregame Handbook

15 Nov

It’s not a pregame unless there’s music. Playing the proper music at your pregame isn’t about having one good playlist, it’s about to catering to the crowd and the occasion you’re drinking for. Here’s a mini-playlist for your different types of friends and helping them get from a to b (where b may be drunkland or cloud9). Hopefully these songs keep your friends’ paws off your iPod/laptop.

There’s a lot of mash-ups and I’ve tried not to include any songs I’ve already posted. (Downloads are in batches when size limit allowed). Enjoy.
